Rocket Crafters, Inc. (RCI), based in Cocoa, Florida, is a young highly innovative space launch company making the transition from research and development into prototype production.  While other rocket companies have their sights set on lofty goals of colonization and manned flight, RCI’s are closer to home. They want rocket launches to be as safe as an airline flight and cost a fraction of the price of a current launch using our patent-pending STAR-3D hybrid rocket engines.

They’re well on our way to making our dream a reality. Just since Spring 2017, they’ve accomplished:

  • 140+ successful sub-scale engine tests
  • Received a US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to conduct 5000 lbf hybrid-rocket engine tests (first test scheduled in the Spring of 2019)
  • Numerous Letters of Intent from smallsat companies to place their satellites into orbit
  • FDOT grant applications endorsed by Space Florida for construction of their production and launch facilities in 2020

Along the way their technology has been featured in Newsweek and on The Discovery Channel.

Their Intrepid-1™ small satellite launch vehicle is currently in development and on track to begin flight operations in Q4 of 2020.  Using simple and effective STAR-3D hybrid rocket engines, Intrepid-1™ will be the world’s first truly mass-producible, ‘launch-on-demand’ small satellite launcher.
